This is a Chesapeake Light Craft Northbay XL. It is 18'6" long and 22" wide. The NorthBay is based on a traditional West Greenland design (hard chines, v-hull).

The boat is built from mahogany (Okoume) marine grade plywood and uses stitch and glue construction. The hull is painted with Interlux Britesides marine paint and the deck is varnished. I built it during the winter of 1999-2000.

It has forward and aft bulkheads with semi-flush hatch covers, a custom deck line and bungie system, and a deck mounted compass.

The seat and cockpit outfitting are mini-cell foam. It is simple but quite comfortable. It has adjustable yakima foot braces.

The Northbay XL is very fast and tracks well. Initial stability is a bit on the low side and the secondary stability is outstanding. It's an easy and efficient boat to paddle that will carve nice turns when put on edge. It rolls easily and can perform traditional Greenland skills such as side sculling and balance bracing well.

It would like $1100 for it but would consider a reasonable serious offer. The boat is located in Ithaca, NY and is available for a test paddle.
