In December of 1999 I began the construction of a kayak kit fromChesapeake Lig ht Craft called the Northbay. The Northbayis a model based on the traditional Greenland design of sea kayaks.It is 18'6" long and 22" wide. The construction method is calledStitch and Glue. The boat is built from panels of Okoume mahoganyplywood that are wired (or stitched) together and then fiberglassed.
